Your favourite restaurant in Kalkan for 2016 is...

Well 2016 has certainly been a year for polling, with Brexit and Trump dominating the headlines. The results of those particular polls have caused a lot of controversy and many people have been upset with the outcome.

So, not to be outdone... now that the 2016 season is officially over, it's time to announce the winner of our Favourite Restaurant poll - and potentially stir up some more controversy!

But first, some statistics. Over 1,800 people visited the poll, but only 21% of those (383) actually voted. Of those that voted, 59% were female and 36% were male. What that makes the other 5% we cannot be sure... but hey, we make no judgements. We're fully inclusive here at Kalkan Secrets.

So anyway... did you vote? If not, why not? If you didn't vote and you don't like the result: well, you only have yourself to blame.

It was a hard fought contest. It got a bit messy at times... crisp Calamari fought off a late challenge from cheesy Sigara Boregi... tender Summer Steak slugged it out with aromatic Balli Mahmudiye... simple Tavuk Sis gave spicy Ottoman Lamb a run for its money.

And, defying all the pundits, sweet Helva held its own against sticky Baklava.

But finally, we have a winner. Drumroll, please.

Ladies and Gentlemen (and undecideds) ...

Well done guys... hearty congratulations to Mehmet and his hardworking team.

Worthy runners-up were SALONIKA in second place, and SADE in third place.

Say what you think below, in the comments section. But remember, if you didn't vote, you cant really complain about the result, can you? Just remember to vote next year!
